Jesus’ Prayer for us.

Jesus’ Prayer for us in the garden the night before the crucifixion…

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
John 17:20‭-‬23 NKJV

It never stops amazing me Jesus’ selfless attitude. He, the Son of God, God incarnate, His whole aim was to save humanity from the punishment of their sins and even in the lead up and while He was completing this horrific task, He loved the people around Him. This is just an excerpt from His prayer in the garden, praying whole heartedly for His disciples and for those who come after them. His prayer is that we will be one, that the live which binds the Father and Son together will bind us as Christians together. What better time is there for us as Christians to demonstrate this love than Easter! Is there any friends or family we can reach out too? Is there anyone we need to pour out this love towards, people we don’t get along with, people we don’t agree with, situations where peace and resolution are desperately needed. Let us shine this overwhelming love into these situations this Easter!

“We love because Christ first loved us…”
