A daily thought.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18 ESV

This verse particularly speaks to me today, God has been near and granted me His peace when in the flesh I just want to feel hurt, frustrated, and crushed. I have been very thankful for these verses over the last week as I navigate the anxiety and frustration of the unfairness of life.

How beautiful are the words of this verse!? The Lord cares deeply about each and everyone of us. The psalmist says, He does not enjoy seeing the wicked suffer, so how much more does He hate to see the righteous in pain? And not only does He care, He steps down into our lives and brings healing. He, God, personally, through the Holy Spirit comforts us. He draws near to us, no matter what we are going through, He draws near to His children when they are crush, brokenhearted or suffering.

I long for the day described in Revelation when God’s comfort, healing and restoration is made whole. If the taste we get on earth so overwhelmingly comforting and beautiful, how incredible it will be when we can see it perfectly. I truely believe it will be as John writes.. No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind can conceive what God has in store for those who love Him.

And with that beautiful thought, I have one cry, come Lord Jesus, come.
