You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Peace. Perfect peace. What is peace? According to the dictionary, peace is not at war, not disturbed, not worried, and rather is calm, contented and quiet. How often we long to be at peace in this world. The constant battle which raging between right and wrong, between people and ideas. We don’t have to look far to see how much we need peace in this world.
So how do we get peace? While the world has many answers, more money, a better house, job or car, being popular, greater success are all sold as bringing contentment and peace. Yet, how often are the most wealthy, influential and success people are the ones chasing peace the most?
You see, none of these things actually bring peace, as the Bible says in numerous places, true peace only comes from God. God is the only one who can give us peace which transcends understanding, peace which is real enough and strong enough to last through the harsh realities of life.
So how do we get this peace from God? Like this verse says, the way we get this peace is keeping our mind fixed on God and trusting Him. That is, being so sure of God’s love and provision for us, nothing can come between us and Him. How peaceful is a life where it’s path is mapped out by the one who not only knows everything but also loves us! How incredible is that? We are able to access that incredible peace simply by trusting in Him. And that means trusting Him with all the small everyday stuff and the huge big life-changing stuff. God knows what’s best for us and we can take heart from that.
