But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Power. Who doesn’t want power? Whether that comes in the form of being in charge at work, school, home or socially, people want to be powerful. Everyone wants to be respected and valued and often we believe that if we have that sense of power ( not that we always call it that!) we will be loved and receive the things we crave.
But this verse tells us that true power, God’s power isn’t something we can earn or use for our own ends, rather it comes in the form of the Holy Spirit and it transforms our lives. It is this power which allows us to live for Christ and be His witnesses to the ends of the earth! How cool is that?! God’s power in us to change the world!
