A daily verse ~ wonder

YouVersion

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.
Psalm 19:1‭-‬2 ESV

How often do we look around with wonder? It is all too easy in our instant consumer culture to not take the time to really see or notice the wonders all around us.

When you look at the sky, like truely, sit and watch the sky, taking time to star gaze or cloud watch, it is easy to see why the vast majority of humans to have live their lives outdoors or studying the skies end up believing in a devine being. While they may not accredit the right person with the design, no one would dare to assume that something so marvellous and vast could create itself.

I wonder if atheism would be on such a steep incline if we spent more time surround by nature? We get so cooped up in our own little worlds, health organisations are starting to prescribe technology free time outdoors. It has been proven to be beneficial for anxiety and a vast array of mental and physical health conditions. And I wonder if that has anything to do with the way it draws us to our creator?

I love being outdoors, in fact, enjoying creation is one of my favourite things. I believe that my truest amd purest worship come in those moments of being alone with God, completely caught up by His handiwork.

Despite how much I love it, I still find it one of the hardest things to fit into my life. I constantly find myself either fighting for it or just letting it slip past. It is a treasure which rarely comes without a fight. I guess that’s where the age old adage comes from, nothing good comes without a fight, and this is no exception.

I pray that you will be able to fight for moments like these with God. Moments which put the world back into perspective and remind us of the wonder, awesomeness, majesty and power of our loving heavenly Father.
