A daily thought ~ strength, might, power

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
Ephesians 6:10 ESV

Strength, strength, might. What a power filled verse! As Christians, we are called to be strong, specifically, in the Lord, that is, we are to find our strength in Him. That seems fairly simple but can feel quite abstract, because while we may draw strong from another, we cannot physically be strong in another human. Which makes it is easy for us to miss the significance of being strong in the Lord. But thats when Paul specifies what part of the Lord we are to draw strength from.

We are to draw strength from the strength of His might. Wow! We are to draw strength from the ultimate, unmeasurable strength that is made the universe, created us, holds the whole world in place. We get special, undeserved, access to the source of all power, ever. How incredible is that?! The power that rises up and crashes down empires, which has legions of supernatural beings at His command, commands us to go directly to Himself for power. What an awesome gift that is!

No matter what you or me might be going through, no matter how overwhelming and unsolvable a situation might seem, we can take heart because we do not have to rely on ourselves for strength but rather we can go directly to the source of original, Almighty source of power and receive directly from Him. He is our Father and He loves us very much.
