Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Recently I’ve been reading my through the old testament and just finished the book of Leviticus. While it was not the first time I’ve read it, I was completely shocked at how much more interesting it was compared to how I remember it. The amount of detail in the laws the Jews had to follow was phenomenal! There was a detailed instruction for every part of life, from eating, to sleeping, to contact, to celebrating, nothing was missed out.
Yet, here is this verse saying that love is the fulfilment of the law. Imagine that! All those books of instruction, condensed into a single word – love.
What a powerful word! What an incredible concept! Take a moment to dwell on all that Christ has done on that cross through love. Love truely is the fulfilment of the law. May we live lives fully defined and engulfed by love.
